Our approach

How we do it.

  1. 01 Audit What’s running, what it costs, what it earns.
  2. 02 Plan Audiences, channels and budgets that make sense.
  3. 03 Launch Campaigns with tracking set up properly.
  4. 04 Optimise Cut what’s wasting money, back what works.
  5. 05 Report Plain-English reporting on what matters.

It’s not a quick fix.
It’s a proper plan.

01

Tracking first, and checked end to end

A campaign without tracking is just hope with a budget. We set up conversion tracking before we spend a penny, then check it survives the whole journey. We once found redirects on our own servers quietly dropping the Google Ads click ID: every page loaded perfectly, and a sale from one of those clicks would never have reached the reports. Now we click the ad and follow it to the inbox.

02

The landing page is half the campaign

Paying for a click that lands on a slow page is paying twice. When we tested 100 Dundee business websites on a phone, the typical one took 5.1 seconds to show its main content and 54 had no tap-to-call link. We send ads to the page that answers the search, fast, with the phone number one tap away, and we plan paid alongside SEO and content rather than in a silo.

03

Local targeting that means local

Target “Dundee” with Google’s default settings and your ads also reach people who have merely shown an interest in Dundee, from anywhere. For a business that serves Tayside, we set campaigns to people who are actually here, and look at Microsoft Ads too: about 1 in 15 search visits to the sites we host came through Bing and the engines it powers.

04

Regulated industries, carefully

We market for brands in betting, law and financial advice, where a careless claim isn’t just a weak ad, it can be a breach. Copy is written to the rules from the first draft: no “risk free”, no promises the small print can’t keep, and the required wording in place.

Proof, not promises.

Real numbers. We counted.

  • 54of 100 Dundee business websites have no tap-to-call link for mobile visitors
  • 5.1sfor the typical Dundee business home page to show its main content on a phone
  • 1 in 15search visits to the sites we host came through Bing and the engines it powers
  • 330 KBtypical page weight of 12 of our recent builds, against 1.7 MB in Dundee

Frequently asked

Straight answers.

How much should we spend?

Enough to learn something useful, and not a penny more until it’s working. We’ll recommend a starting budget based on your goals.

Do you take a percentage of ad spend?

We’ll set out our fees clearly in the proposal so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Can you take over our existing campaigns?

Yes. We’ll start with an audit so we know what’s worth keeping.

Why can’t we see which ads bring in sales?

Usually one of three things: conversions aren’t set up to count the right action, a redirect or form on the site is losing the Google Ads click ID, or consent settings are stopping conversions being recorded. We check all three, on the live site, before touching the campaigns.

Should we advertise on Bing as well as Google?

Often it’s worth a test. About 1 in 15 search visits to the sites we host came through Bing and the engines it powers, and Microsoft Ads can import your Google campaigns, so it’s a quick thing to try.

Where should our ads send people?

To the page that answers the search, not the home page. Someone searching for an MOT should land on the MOT page, with the price, the booking button and the phone number one tap away.

Can you advertise in regulated industries?

Yes, carefully. Betting, legal and financial advertising all have rules about what you can claim and what you must say. We write to them from the first draft rather than fixing them afterwards.
