The human version
- We want everyone to be able to use this site, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
- We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
- If something doesn’t work for you, tell us and we’ll fix it.
This summary is here to make things easier to follow. The full text below is the version that applies.
What we’ve done
- The whole site works with a keyboard, with visible focus outlines and a “skip to content” link.
- Headings, landmarks and labels are structured so screen readers can navigate them.
- Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Text and backgrounds are chosen for readable contrast.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the animations switch off — the imp stops bobbing, the scribbles appear straight away and the ticker stands still.
- The contact form has proper labels, clear error messages next to each field, and works without JavaScript.
- The site doesn’t set cookies, so there’s no consent pop-up to fight your way past.
Things we know aren’t perfect yet
- Some decorative handwriting is set in stylised fonts. The same information is always available in plain text nearby.
- Screenshots on the Stuff page show other websites and contain text that isn’t described in full.
We’re working on these and review the site whenever we make changes.
