A Tribe Called Quest asked the question. Can I kick it?
To all the people who can quest like a tribe does, I ask, can I Bing it?
And the answer is…
Yes you can!
I am setting myself and the team here at Purple Imp a 30 day challenge for April 2013, and I invite you to join us.
Use Bing for the 30 days of April and record how you feel about using the Bing search engine and the results returned. Do they satisfy your user intent when searching?
Before embarking head-on into the challenge, you could have a little bit of search engine foreplay and use Bing versus Google
http://www.bing-vs-google.com/
You can directly compare the result returned from both of the leading search engines.
Just as a wee side note, I prefer, in fact I love the interactive home page on Bing as opposed to the Google Doodle, with this one being a personal favourite, but don’t forget to search rather than just play with the home page 😉
Why? you might ask.
Well, it’s a bit of fun, and in our industry where we continually discuss online with clients, I am perplexed by the amount of people who think Google is the internet.
Don’t get me wrong, this is by no means a swipe at Google!
Matt Cutts does a 30 day challenge regularly and was the inspiration for this 30 days of Bing challenge.
In fact I might ask Matt to take part. I am going to set up a poll on the blog, so we can monitor and evaluate the results. We won’t have time to put any science behind it so I just want to know what you think of your experience.
So, here’s to 30 days of Bing in April. I look forward to the teams and your responses and I will feed back the findings to Duane Foster (@purpleimp.comDuaneForrester) over at Bing.
Can anyone guess what my first post in May is going to be about?
